Dear Patients,
I am excited to be transitioning to a private practice. My goal is to maintain a much smaller, more focused patient panel, allowing me to provide improved access. This also enables me to balance my professional commitments with time for my young child and elderly mother.
My practice will be best suited for patients who are:
✅ Comfortable using email and text messaging for administrative matters (not medical care)
✅ Able to schedule, reschedule, and cancel appointments online
✅ Prepared to pay for services at the time of their visit, especially if on a high-deductible plan
✅ Willing to take an active role in managing their healthcare, including:
Retrieving their own lab results, test results, and medical records from other healthcare facilities and bringing them to each visit
Using patient portals like MyChart to access necessary documents before appointments
Making phone calls and following up on any referrals, tests, or treatments I may order
Important Changes to Communication and Care:
My new practice will not provide any medical care, diagnosis, or treatment over email, patient portals, or messaging. If you have a clinical concern, a new symptom, or medical questions, you will need to schedule an in-person appointment. Messaging will not provide the level of care I expect to deliver.
Getting an appointment with me will be easier. I will have more availability for those who need to be seen, including same-week and sometimes same-day appointments.
Since I will no longer be employed by a multi-billion dollar corporate healthcare system, maintaining financial responsibility is essential. A no-show or late cancellation fee will apply for appointments not canceled at least 24 hours in advance. If we schedule procedures in the office, there will be a refundable “no-show fee” that will apply.
Please keep in mind that this new clinic will require you to participate much more in the secretarial aspects of your care. If this approach works for you, I look forward to continuing your care in this new setting.
If you prefer a different structure, I encourage you to contact your current health care organization or your insurance carrier for assistance in finding a practice that better fits your needs.
Thank you.
